Archdeaconry of Norfolk: Marriage Licence Bonds and Affidavits

  • ANF 12
  • Archief
  • 1670-1886

Years 1670, 1704-1886 only. From 1823 affidavits (also called allegations) only. Filed according to the date at which they were returned to the Archdeacon, not the date issued. The bonds and affidavits are in files, many of them now broken, until 1798 and they are thereafter in bundles. Contemporary indexes of persons for 1704-1785 and other individual years survive with some bundles. New style dates given in catalogue.

Archdeaconry of Norfolk: Visitation Books

  • ANF 1
  • Archief
  • 1560-1867

Also called act books or libri detectionum. The pre-1699 books are often casually dated. Presentments and other papers are inserted. Deaneries are listed in the order in which they appear, and where an overlap occurs a deanery was dealt with partly in one book and partly in another.
