  • Lady Lucas&Dingwall bought the estate in 1922, letting it out. She began residing at the Hall in 1925. The estate was sold to Major Anthony Buxton in 1929. again, the hall is let until Major Buxton and his family take up residence in 1931 The estate was bequeathed to the National Trust in 1948. John Buxton, Major Buxton's son, was living at the hall and running the estate in 1958. Major Buxton died in 1970, aged 89. John Buxton died in 2014. In recent years, his son, Robin, runs the estate.
