Child's diary in Brighton and Baldock.

Refers to 'Frank' and 'Nina' and is thus the diary of their Sister Alice Simpson (who married Major John Lindesay Keir in 1895). This is confirmed as writer's birthday is on 1 July and UPC 203 below gives Alice's 21st birthday as being 1 July 1883. The diary is not dated but Easter Sunday is 16 April so must be 1876, and thus written when Alice is 13 and 14. A good child's diary recording visits, walks, lessons, books read e.g. 'Martin Chuzzlewitt', 'Little Women', 'The Schonburg-Colta Family'. In August she is on holiday in the Lake District.
