Born 16 October 1744. Educated at Winchester School, and at New College, Oxford. Degree in law 27 October 1768, and Doctor of Civil Law 5 June 1776. Canon of Christ Church, Keeper of the Great Seal, and Lord Chancellor. Prebend at Durham and Bishop of Norwich in 1805. Nominated 5 March 1805, consecrated 28 April 1805. Married Grace Coote, daughter of Revd Charles Coote. Son James amongst many children. Brother was Revd Charles Bathurst. Descended from Allen Lord Bathurst. Son of Benjamin Bathurst. Died 5 April 1837 aged 92 years.
