Biographical history

Frank E. Delf was a marine engineer and serviced many pump mills as part of his work. He was also an artist, naturalist and had expert knowledge of windmills, pump mills and round-towered churches. On his retirement, he lived in Worlingham. Mr Delf was a founding member of the Great Yarmouth Naturalist's Society. Later, Mr Delf used his expertise to give talks on the mills and many of the slides and papers relate to his lectures. He was also a founder member of the Beccles Society of Artists, which he established in 1969.

Received by the Norfolk Record Office on 10 August 1973 (MS 33434 numbered MC 530/1-16), 19 January 1994 (MS 33435 numbered MC 530/17) and 12 February 2014 (ACC 2013/333) added to CALM 12/02/2013 (HV).
