Manor of Coxford owned by Coxford priory [Swales]. The first court of Thomas, duke of Norfolk, was held on 8 Sep 1558 (NRO, BL/MD 6). The Earl of Leicester is given as lord of the manor in White's Trade Directory (1845). William Foster, Esq. was his steward and the court leet and baron were held in October. The Earl of Leicester is given as lord of the manor in White's Trade Directory, 1883.
