History

Born in Mildenhall; Suffolk. Trained as a solicitor and worked at Southampton Corporation from 1936 and later at the Ipswich Corporation. Married in 1937. Joined the Army in December 1941 and served in the Royal Artillery (no.299072) in Europe. Discharged in 1945 and returned to work for the Ipswich Corporation. In 1947 was appointed as Deputy Town Clerk of Chester. He became Town Clerk of King's Lynn in 1953 and served until 1970 but was on sick leave from October 1969. He died in 1988.
