History

First wife Elizabeth, daughter of Edmond Pierce of Great Yarmouth. Son Robert who was mayor in 1569 and 1578. Second wife Cecily, daughter of Augustine Steward. A grocer by trade, he was sheriff in 1536, and mayor in 1548. He died during his mayoralty, and William Rogers was elected as mayor. Buried in St Clement's Church, Norwich. Lived in house at 15, Fye Bridge Street, opposite St Clement's Church, Norwich. His premises extended into Fishergate, Norwich. Died 31 October 1548.
