History

Born at Gressingham in Lancashire. Brought up in Cambridge where he studied and took several degrees, B.A. and M.A. Doctor of divinity. Consecrated Bishop of Peterborough 16 February 1560. Transferred from Peterborough Elected Bishop of Norwich on 15 December 1594, confirmed 15 January 1585. Buried 3 June 1594 in a very elaborate ceremony at Norwich Cathedral. Died 7 May 1594 at the bishop's palace, Norwich.
