Born in Essex. Educated at the University of Cambridge, a doctor of divinity. Made canon of Westminster in 1564, and archdeacon of Canterbury at about the same time. Canon of Windsor on 10 April 1570, dean of Rochester on 18 September 1571. Transferred from Rochester, elected by the Dean and Chapter in Norwich on 13 July 1575. nominated 21 July 1575, confirmed by Archbishop of York 14 November 1575. Transferred to Worcester 5 December 1584.
