Methodist] local preacher (inc. preaching at Frettenham and in a barn at Manor Farm, Aslacton) and Sunday School teacher, attending local chapel services, lectures and concerts inc. 'Messiah' in the Norwich Festival, reading inc. Macauley and the 'Heir of Radclyffe', long walks in the Norwich area, rowing and playing quoits, visits to a farm at Forncett, to Runton and honeymoon at Lowestoft when the pier, graving dock, fishmarket and a fishing boat collision are referred to and also skating at the Yarmouth Aquarium.
