Scope and content

Entered in the Ladies Fashionable Repository for 1815, embellished with a view of Glemham Hall . . . near Saxmundham, Suffolk; and an elegant vignette; containing a great variety of useful articles, printed by J. Raw, Ipswich. The writer refers to 'Mr H' (? her husband), members of her family, domestic matters including food, winemaking and clothes, and social engagements including card games, and schooling.
A note headed 'Lowestoft, Jan. 1915, K.S. Selby' states that the diary was kept by the writer's great grandmother and an entry for 19 January in the same hand refers to hearing bombs from a Zeppelin raid over Lynn, Snettisham and Yarmouth in 1915.
