Name of creator
Francis Cresswell (1789-1861, mayor of Lynn, 1845), and his wife Rachel (1803-1888), daughter of Joseph Fry (1777-1861) and his wife Elizabeth Fry, née Gurney (1780-1845), lived at Bank House, King's Lynn. Their children were Francis Joseph (1822-1882, John Addison (b 1824), Samuel Gurney (1827-1867), William Edward (b 1835), Gerard Oswin (b 1837), Oswald (b 1839), Harriet Frances Elizabeth (b 1842).
Francis Cresswell, F.J. Cresswell, G.F.A. Cresswell and S.A. Gurney were partners in Gurneys, Birkbeck, Barclay, Buxton and Cresswell's Bank at King's Lynn (later Barclay's Bank).
Name of creator
Eldest son of Francis Cresswell (1789-1861) and his wife Rachel (1803-1888), née Fry, of Bank House, King's Lynn. He married the Hon. Charlotte Frances Georgina Gough, a daughter of Lord Calthorpe, in 1850 and they set up home at 3 King Street, King's Lynn.
