November 13, 1920-December 6, 1988. Charles Saxon was a pilot and also a cartoonist who designed the 'big ass' bird cartoons which appear on the 100th and 200th mission celebration memorabilia. He also drew the nose art on the B-24 'Bottle Butt's Buggy' flown by pilot Earl Wassom. He was born in Brooklyn, New York and died in Stamford, Connecticut.
