Cok and Bemond's account includes reference to the purchase of a box to keep the writings of the mayor and 'divers other writings', 1538, and in the 'mynute expenses' of Moraunt and Reynbald's account are detailed expenses of equipping and sending 40 'sougers' (18 bowmen and 22 'bilmen') with the Duke of Norfolk's campaign against the Scots, 1541-1542, and in the same section of Reynbald's account of 1544-45 is a similarly detailed account of the cost of raising and equipping soldiers. Detailed references to the costs of the Common Hall appear in both the 1541-42 and 1542-43 accounts. The account of 1543-44 includes for the first time, the income from the farm of the late house and 'great garden' of the Blackfriars, and reference is made to the purchase of the lease of the church of St Mary the 'Little' from the Dean and Chapter of Norwich. The 'minute expenses' section of the discharge often includes references to gifts (? bribes) to influential nobles.
