Biographical history

Born in Wiltshire but came to Norwich to practice architecture in about 1910. His buildings include St Mary's Baptist Church and the Howlett and White Shoe factory. He built many council houses, the earliest being in 1912 at Thetford. Worked for Fielden and Mawson. He was the author of 'Georgian Norwich: its Builders' and three volumes of 'Beautiful Norfolk Buildings'. He died in 1960 aged 79.
