Created after the 1835 reforms. The position took on the duties which had previously been performed by the Corporation Chamberlain, being the Borough's chief financial officer, in addition to the duties imposed by the Municipal Corporations' Act of Parliament.

Is paid ¼ year salary in KL/TR 2/43 but is still listed as the Borough Treasurer in Kelly’s Directory in 1900, 1908, 1912 & 1916 even though no formal salary was drawn.

Not listed in Kelly’s Directories with other Borough officials in 1900, 1908 & 1916 but is in 1912. Was retained in a consultative capacity for 6 months after his retirement.
Ernest Henry Bradford – 31st March 1927 to March 1946
Had been deputy to Anderson for many years. Signs off 1926-27 minutes but Anderson still appears as Borough Accountant.
