Biographical history
Born in Mount Vernon, Illinois, USA. 2nd Lt Homer H. Badgett served as a co-pilot. He flew 14 missions with the 453rd Bomb Group and three 'Mickey' missions (as a radar navigator) with the 389th Bomb Group. Returning from a mission to Munich, Germany, on 11 July 1944, his aeroplane was hit by flak and he bailed out over France. He was assisted by the French Resistance and eventually left France with a column of British supply line trucks, 11 September 1944. Died in San Diego, California, United States.
