Administrative history

Fomer National school built in 1847. Kelly's Directory of Norfolk, 1900, provides the following account of the school, 'National School (mixed), erected in 1847 & enlarged in 1872, for 105 children; average attendance 76; Miss Orme mistress'. Later known as Alburgh Voluntary Primary School, and also Alburgh Voluntary Controlled School. The school remains open and is currently known as Alburgh with Denton Church of England Voluntary Controlled Primary School (at time of completion of catalogue).
