Established in 1990 as the Warehouse Artists Studios, they became a limited charity registered under the Industrial and Provident Societies Act (1968) in 1992 and rented premises at Haslip's Opening, Devonshire Street, Norwich. Its remit was art education and appreciation and included up to 30 artists as members of the trust at its height. Exhibitions of new work and educational workshops took place in the dedicated flexispace at the Haslip's Opening. Funding was obtained from the Eastern Arts Board and from the Norwich City Council. In 2010, they moved premises to Hellesdon Barn and changed their name to Zeroeast Art Studios.

Created on 1 October 2010, the result of a merger by Norfolk County Council, Norwich City Council and Great Yarmouth Borough Council of their separate legal teams. Joined by South Norfolk District Council on 1 April 2012. Although a part of Norfolk County Council, nplaw is run as a separate, self-funding business.

Established as the Bell Corporation at the Bell Inn, Hog Hill, Norwich, in 1764. In 1793, following a disagreement between the members about the French Revolution, the club split into the 'Rump Parliament' (which soon dissolved) and the Castle Corporation.
